Get to Know Us
As a kid growing up in Southern Minnesota I always marveled at the set of deer horns my dad had in our basement. He was not much of a deer hunter. But he had one of the biggest Whitetail antlers I had seen in my young life. It wasn't until I was in my teens that a friend of the family stopped by asking dad about the deer he shot in 1969. He went in and grabbed the impressive set of antlers. His friend asked if he could take them to the MN Deer Classic and have them measured.
That was the moment I knew I had to know more about that deer. I found out it was shot in 1969 just south of Twin Lakes MN in a standing corn field. He shot it with a Browning Auto 5, 16 ga. The deer was crawling when he shot it. He laughed it took 6 men to get it out of the corn field! Then I laughed. He then went to his dresser and pulled out an old black and white photo of the deer hanging with another buck and a doe. This deer was half again as long as the other two. He then showed me a faded, worn, weigh receipt from the Emmons Elevator. It weighted the deer in at 330lbs dressed.
Many times since then I wish I would have documented those items. That would have been so cool to pass down over the generations. That is the inspiration for this product. Trophies are more than a set of horns, or a mount. They are a story, a memory, a moment in time that we cherish. At Trophy Rack Track we are Tracking your most Important Memories...
